Yes - All of our stores are open with their normal operating hours.

We have introduced a number of measures to help protect both our customers and our staff.

These are:

  • Limiting the number of customers in our shops at any one time.
  • We have installed hand sanitising stations at the entrance to all of our stores, and will ask all customers to use these before entering the building.
  • Our staff will help manage queues, reminding customers of the two-metre social distancing rule.
  • Store layouts have been amended and we have introduced floor signage in all shops to ensure customers keep two metres apart when in the store and queuing at the tills.
  • Screens have been placed at the checkouts to protect customers and staff
  • Staff will have the option to wear a protective visor or face covering, if they wish.
  • We are also encouraging all customers to wear face coverings.
  • We will encourage our customers to shop in a cashless and contactless way to prevent unnecessary contact.

Yes, we will accept cash, however where possible we would ask & advise customers to pay using contactless payment.

To help reduce the handling of items and ensure social distancing is maintained, we are encouraging all of our customers not to try on items in store if possible.

Government guidance states that fitting rooms should be closed wherever possible, given the challenges in operating them safely. However, PMG have decided that fitting rooms are essential for the buying of school uniform. Therefore, a reduced number of fitting rooms will be available in all of our stores.

In order to maintain hygiene standards as per government guidelines, we will ensure that all fitting rooms are thoroughly cleaned frequently and after each use. We will also train all staff to limit contact between customers and colleagues during fitting.

We will be quarantining any products which have been tried on for 72 hours. They will be disinfected and steamed to ensure they are safe to put back into stock.

We have carried out a full risk assessment at every store in order to ensure COVID-19 compliance.
We have robust hygiene procedures in place and are providing regular updates to our staff to ensure they have appropriate advice.
All equipment in store, such as tills, payment terminals, fixtures, fittings and baskets will be cleaned daily and at every available opportunity.
Hand sanitising wipes have also been provided for our staff who do not always have easy access to hand-washing facilities.

As we navigate through this public health emergency, we follow a four-step procedure to deal with COVID-19 across our business

  • First: If we learn of any PMG Schoolwear employee who is sick or who does not feel comfortable coming to work, we encourage them to stay home and to be tested to confirm whether they are positive. We have relaxed our attendance policy to accommodate periods of unexpected absence without penalty.
  • Second: If we learn of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in one of our stores, we will close the store immediately and send all staff home.
  • Third: We will inform all team members who may have had close contact with that confirmed case and would ask them to be tested too.
  • Fourth: As a matter of policy, we will thoroughly cleanse any facility impacted by a confirmed employee case.
